The Department of Computer Science, Burdwan Raj College wasn't built in a day. It not only took 5 years of time but also the tireless efforts of the teachers and devotion of the students with montonic increasing levels to reach this feat. It was the brainchild of the Principal, Dr. Niranjan Mandal to enthrone the years old college with the new department. Down the memory lane, in 2017, the department was first formed under the supervision of Dr. Surajit Mandal with the assistance of four Assistant Professors. It stands to be the youngest department of the college. Yet within this short span of time, it has created a long list of students who brought laurels only to make the department proud.

Till now, 3 batches of students have successfully graduated with pretty high scores, holding the top-position in the University rank list. The department has propelled its students to several premier institutes of India and is still devoted to this mission. Furthermore, some students have joined the MNCs like TCS, Wipro, ByteDance etc. as IT professionals. Recently, a student of the department has got confirmation from NASA and IAU Minor Planet Center for the discovery of two unique and undiscovered asteroids through data analysis.
