Established as a Department in 1987 offering only General courses, the Department of Electronics was upgraded to an Honours Department in the year 2013.
At present there are two teaching staffs (one Associate professor and one SACT) and one technical staff in the department. There are more than 350 books in the departmental seminar library and has internet facility in the departmental computer. The laboratory is equipped with good number of instruments and has a workshop for designing and repairing experimental circuit boards.
Pass out students of the Electronics Hons generally take admission to different PG courses like Electronic Science, Electronic instrumentation, Biomedical instrumentation, computer science, MCA, MBA etc or prepare for different National level competitive examination or get job in different private sectors.
The subject Electronics is growing very fast with prospects for jobs multiple fields. So, it is a great challenge to educate students in this emerging and state-of-art technology.
