The Department of Music started functioning in the year 2017. We offer students an enjoyable environment and provide them with a variety of avenues for self-expression with a view to transform them into dynamic and caring citizen of the country. We also help students to develop their creativity, aesthetic sensitivity, and fulfilment of those through music.
We aim to:
- Prepare students to sing and use their voice to create and compose music on their own as well as collaboratively and let them learn the use and application of different musical instrument.
- Introduce them to the history of Indian classical music and raagas.
- Help them reach their highest creative and intellectual potential and encourage them for innovative professional careers.
- Improve their singing skills and over-all knowledge of music.
Indian classical music is usually played sitting on the floor. For that, we have one spacious hall with a good collection of instruments which includes:
- 2 set table
- 1 harmonium (scale change)
- 2 manual tanpura (1 ladies, 1 gents)
- 1 electronic tanpura
- 5 types of percussion instruments
Our students have won laurels by actively taking part in various cultural programs inside and outside the College.
